An Accepted Offer
In a seller’s market, I worked with a realtor to write up an attractive offer for the fourth house I visited. After walking into a few nightmarish homes on the market, I was so happy to find a well taken care of home. I almost didn’t view the house because there ware no basement photos on the listing and I didn’t want to have a house without a basement. The basement is unfinished but in a great condition.
With a special clause that would automatically beat other lower offers, we set a limit and crossed our fingers. I was at my parents’ house doing some yard work and bathroom renovations when I heard from the realtor that my offer was accepted.
In any other circumstance, I am patient and I do a lot of research. I found myself not so patient with house hunting and part of that was knowing that another Wisconsin winter was coming.
The accepted offer was $7,000 over the asking price and I was willing to go as high as $15,000 above asking price. Originally I wanted a fixer upper home but this home only has a few renovations needed to make it perfectly personal. As a gardener and future dog owner, the backyard was perfect.
