It Happened on 5th Avenue
This Christmas I am more content than I usually am. Usually I’m more of a grinch. In my family, Christmas has few presents under the tree. We do not believe in spending a lot of money to buy empty shells of short-term happiness.
We genuinely enjoy being together without feeling obligated to give. We do eat however, but in the last year or so, the food has gotten healthier and smarter. Almost no meat and mostly nutritious foods made wonderfully by good cooks.
“It happened on Fifth Avenue” is my mother’s favorite Christmas movie. It is really the only one I can stand to sit down and watch.
I let myself enjoy the day rather than thinking about the future. I also let myself enjoy all of the extra calories and carbs that I’ve been preparing for.
Tomorrow it is back to the grind. Back to the preparations and actions needed to have the career and life that I know is waiting for me to arrive at through action.
I am ready to start enjoying life with someone else in my life. I am ready to get out there and find a relationship between two driven people sharing one storyline.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
