Learning to Renovate
Helping my parents for the last 20 something years to renovate their home, I know a few things. Recently, the project is the main bathroom. Specifically, we have been working on the bathtub/shower area. Tear out was the quickest and heaviest of the process. Porcelain and cast iron bathtubs are damn heavy! Also, we replaced a yellow one with a white one, so there was no fiberglass insert that needs to be replaced in five years.
This weekend the biggest job was filling the concrete board seams. The next step is to waterproof and then tile. Its definitely a process. In the continued search to purchase my own home, I am grateful that I have the ability to work on home projects and the understanding of where to learn the steps I do not know.
A lot of things are changing right now with family and I can see the beginning of a rollercoaster, with it’s ups and downs ahead.
