Fit Makes The Man

Anyone that knows me knows I’m frugal. Wearing money doesn’t make you rich, it just makes you look like you’re trying to tell others. I take my cues from the likes of Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg. But I will admit to my love of dress clothes and a desire to wear my large collection of ties. I used to buy all of my dress clothes on clearance at Kohls. There is something to be said about dress clothes and having a personal dress code; the level of professionalism you bring with your personality and your personal brand.

Having an appointment in Madison on a rare vacation day, I decided to buy some better fitted dress clothes, as all mine had been from heavier days. Macy’s had a sale and I found some really nice fitted pants. The saleswoman even offered to measure me for a dress shirt. That’s the kind of service that will make a frugal guy spend some money. Was The price at The register a shock? Yes! But in the end it was worth the money. The pants were perfection and I could actually button the top button of my shirt without a struggle. I was also able to create a look very similar to a photo shoot idea I’ve been planning.

For my appointment, I felt like a million bucks and had all the confidence in the world, strutting around the heart of the city. Thinking about the differences of Green Bay and Madison. One doesn’t experience such liberalism in the smallest city that houses an NFL team.

What’s the point? Properly fitted clothes make you feel great. Having been a gym unicorn for some time now, it has been a struggle to find clothes that fit my small waist and thick thighs. Keeping up with a fitted wardrobe is worth the expense of keeping your confidence and remaining on the path to greatness.
